This week, we visited Kaiba Glass Works, where each piece is carefully handmade using traditional glassblowing techniques. Watching molten glass slowly become something beautiful is something you have to experience in person.

If you’re exploring Akiu, I highly recommend taking some time to visit local workshops like this. They are part of what makes this area so special.

We almost spent another weekend in the city…

またいつもの街で週末を過ごすところでした。

Instead, we found ourselves beside a quiet river, grilling corn over a fire, drinking coffee with a beautiful view, watching the stars, and slowing down for the first time in a while.

でも今回は、静かな川辺で焚き火を囲み、とうもろこしを焼き、美しい景色を眺めながらコーヒーを飲み、満天の星空の下でゆっくりとした時間を過ごしました。

Sometimes the best trips aren’t the ones you plan—they’re the ones that remind you to slow down and simply enjoy the moment.

最高の旅は、計画どおりの旅ではなく、「ゆっくり過ごす大切さ」を思い出させてくれる旅なのかもしれません。
