Hotel Monterey Group brings a new hotel to Sendai (the City of Trees) called Hotel Monte Hermana. Meaning "sister" in Spanish, the name could also mean Princess Mountain since Monterey derives its name from King's Mountain. The Spanish connection is particularly appropriate in Sendai, as the city's founder, the samurai Masamune Date, funded a rare expedition to Spain in the Middle Ages. This relationship between Spain and Sendai is reflected in the design of the hotel.
「ホテル モンテ エルマーナ」の「モンテ」はスペイン語で「山」を、「エルマーナ」は「姉妹」を意味しています。「山の王」モントレの姉妹、モンテ エルマーナ。その昔、仙台旧伊達藩が慶長遣欧使節団を派遣した、所縁のあるスペインと仙台を繋ぐデザインをちりばめました。また、仙台花京院は、仙台藩医 薬院薬草園から、客室はハーブのカラースキームで意匠をこらしています。伊達藩とスペイン文化が融合した、安らぎと安心の空間でお迎えいたします。
