THE BLACK SHIP FESTIVAL🇯🇵🇺🇸

The most famous festival of Shimoda celebrated in honor of the arrival on the Blackship and the opening of Japan to the world.
It is rich in international color featuring a ceremony at the Shimoda Park, the parading of the U.S.Naval marching bands and so on.
"The Blackship Journey" in which participants dressed as characters such as Commodore Perry and shogunate officials down to Ryosenji Temple draws especial attention from the watching crowd.
Onlookers are enwrapped in such excitements as if drawn back in time a century and half ago👨‍✈️💂🏼⚓️

🇯🇵黒船祭🇺🇸

海上自衛隊、アメリカ海軍、お祭り、歴史、花火、下田好きの方必見✨

2022年度、第83回黒船祭は、規模を縮小して開催👏🏽

ペリー提督率いる米国海軍が黒船で来航したのが1854年。この後、下田開港につくした内外の先賢の偉業をたたえ、併せて世界平和と国際親善に寄与するため、昭和9年（1934年）に始まったのがこの黒船祭です。

黒船祭では海上花火大会、米海軍・海上自衛隊の音楽隊が出演するパレードやコンサートなど、国際色豊な祭典でもあります🎷

Spring is just around the corner!!

The Kawazu Sakura Festival will start on February 1 - 28, 2022.

The Cherry Blossoms and Canola Flowers Minami Izu Festival will start on February 1 until March 10, 2022.

Kawazu-zakura are an early flowering variety of cherry tree!

Kawazu-zakura in Kawazu Town and Minami Izu is in full bloom in February every year, as the cherry blossoms bloom early, due to the warm climate. During the yearly “Kawazu Sakura Festival” & "Cherry Blossoms and Canola Flowers Minami Izu Festival" held in the blooming season, dark pink Kawazu-Sakura blossoms that signal the arrival of early spring 🌸

Canola flowers also beautifully bloom at the riverside which makes the marvelous contrasts🌼

みなみの桜と菜の花まつり 2/1〜3/10
開催されます！

河津桜は早咲きの桜の品種であり、河津町や南伊豆は温暖な気候のため桜の開花が早く、毎年2月に満開になります。
毎年開花時期に開催される「河津桜まつり」＆「みなみの桜と菜の花まつり」では、早春の訪れを告げる濃いピンク色の河津桜が咲き誇ります🌸
