Important Announcement
Dear Guests,
Thank you always for your continued support and love for Guest House Koshuya.
Since opening in April 2022, we have had the pleasure of welcoming so many wonderful guests from all over the world. However, we would like to share that Guest House Koshuya will be closing in November this year.
Although these past four years have been short, they have been incredibly meaningful to us. We are truly grateful to the local community for their kindness and support, and to every guest who chose to stay with us.
We have been honored to welcome guests from many different countries. In particular, many visitors from China came to Koshuya after reading “The Dancing Girl of Izu” by Yasunari Kawabata. It deeply touched us to feel how much you cherished this place.
Through these experiences, we were reminded that the appreciation for beauty and culture goes beyond nationality, culture, politics, or race.
We are also deeply thankful to the local people of Shimoda, whose warm words and support made us feel truly at home.
As for what comes next, nothing has been decided yet. We are excited and a little nervous about finding a new home and new work, and stepping into the next chapter of our lives. We will continue to stay in Shimoda.
Thank you again for being part of our journey. We hope to stay connected with you in the future.
