夏の喧騒が落ち着き、ゆっくりとした時間が戻ってきた伊豆下田、実はこれからがとってもおすすめな季節です。
暑すぎると感じていた気温も落ち着いて、外で過ごしやすくなり、ビーチでゆっくり過ごすことができます。海水温はまだしばらくは温かいので、海に入って遊ぶのも最高！
ぼーっと水平線を眺めたり、波の音を聞いたり、気が向いたら泳いでみたり1日を海辺で過ごしやすい時期です。
朝晩もとても気持ち良いので、朝日や夕日を見に行ったり、夜の海辺の散歩や敷地内での焚き火も素敵な海辺時間の楽しみ方！

家族や友人と、綺麗な海で落ち着いた楽しみができる旅へ。

Shimoda Beach Holiday! Fun for the whole family!

丸窓がいい味を出してくれているOku-cottageは4名様までご宿泊いただけるかわいいコテージ。
伊豆下田、吉佐美大浜のRetreat wabi-sabiの敷地内で最後に工事を行った建物で、地元の大工さんと海外から来てくれたヘルパーのみんなで工事を行いました。
元々の壁を取り払ったり、天井を抜いて開放感を出したり、２階の部屋から一階を覗ける窓？をつけたり、キッチンの壁をレトロなタイルで仕上げたりと私達の自由な発想を形にするのは楽しく、またやりがいのある工事でした。
先週は痛んできた２階の天井を張り替え、天井裏に断熱材を入れる工事を行い、夏の繁忙期により快適に過ごしていただけるようになりました😊

Oku-cottage, with its lovely round window, is a cute cottage that can accommodate up to four people.
This was the last building to be constructed at Retreat wabi-sabi in Kisami Ohama, Shimoda, Izu, and the construction was carried out by local carpenters and helpers who came from overseas.
We removed the original walls, removed the ceiling to create a sense of openness, added a window that allows you to see into the first floor from the second floor room, and finished the kitchen wall with retro tiles. It was a fun and rewarding project to put our original ideas into shape.
Last week, we replaced the damaged ceiling on the second floor and installed insulation above the ceiling, making it more comfortable for the busy summer season😊

来月6月は下田あじさい祭！
下田公園の小高い山に300万輪のあじさいが咲き誇ります。あじさいってこんなに種類があるんだ〜！と驚くほど沢山のあじさいがあり、下田公園からの港や町を見下ろす地形とも相まって、素晴らしい景色を楽しめます。
期間中は飲食の出店もあり、ゆっくりと楽しむことができます。
梅雨にさしかかる時期ではありますが、あじさいは雨が降っていても風情があり、晴れていればより快適に下田時間を楽しめます😊
気候も夏の暑さが訪れる前の散策に適した良い時期、外で過ごすのがとても気持ちよいです！

伊豆下田の吉佐美大浜から徒歩5分、Retreat wabi-sabiには4棟の一棟貸しの宿泊施設があります。
敷地内に入ってまず最初に目に入るのがSai holiday houseです。
以前はカフェとして営業していた建物は大きな屋根付きのウッドデッキがあります。
1階はこのウッドデッキ、室内のリビングダイニング、キッチン、浴室、トイレ。
2階には和室が3部屋。
オススメは4〜6名様ですが、最大で9名様までご宿泊が可能です。
喧騒から離れ、緑に囲まれた立地で、鳥の鳴く声ご聞こえる広いウッドデッキで寛いで、リラックスした時間をお過ごしいただけます。

As fall arrives quickly, we find ourselves reminiscing about the end of a beautiful summer season here at our retreat in Kisane Valley, Shimoda Izu. While we’re a bit sad to say goodbye to the hot, super sunny days, we’re filled with gratitude for all the incredible guests who visited us from across the globe. 💔 Sharing Support for a Long-Time Friend 💔

We are deeply saddened to share the tragic news that Yuumi Arimoto, the beloved wife of one of our much-loved guests and loyal customers, Hiroshi Arimoto, passed away while on vacation in Hawaii. Hiroshi and his family have been staying with us in Shimoda every summer for many many years, always bringing warmth and joy.

In light of this heartbreaking loss, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help Hiroshi with the mounting hospital and medical bills. We’re sharing this page with our community to spread awareness and offer support.

お盆も終わって下田は混雑のピークを超えました。今年は地震や台風の影響もあってかお盆期間でもそこまで混雑はしなかった印象ですが、それでもお盆を過ぎてみると道路や駐車場の車の数もとっても少なくなってきました。

そしてここからがとってもオススメな季節です！
水温は一年で最も温かくて（海に入る時に少しヒヤッと感じる程度）近年の厳しい残暑にとても気持ちの良い海水温です。
混雑は少なくビーチでも海の中でも広々と遊べます。
ライフガードはあと１週間、8月25日(日)魔でいてくれるので、小さいお子様も安心。
美しい吉佐美大浜をゆっくり等楽しんでいただけます。
