[The end of June and 2nd-half of this year is starting!]

I have just introduced “Hydrangeas”, which is one of the Japanese symbolic flower, like Sakura.

To see such colorful flowers along local street or in front of someone’s house is really enjoyable for me during the rainy season, especially in June!

The color of flowers depends on the pH of the soil. Generally, the flowers become blue in the acidic soil and become red in the alkaline one. They will change it next year if the acid rain has fallen, or a cat p*e on the soil…😳

And surprisingly, I have known it after grown up that their flower is very small one surrounded by the vivid colors calyx, looks petals.

Summer is coming in 2 or 3 weeks soon…

[Yesterday’s Shizuoka 2] Visited “Hirayama Onsen”, which is one of Secret one in Shizuoka city.

Although it is not easy to get there, that’s the one of the reason to be said as good-worth visiting in the heart of mountain for Onsen lovers and keep loved by local people😌

It has been opened since 1958 and still prohibited from using any type of soup inside to keep high quality.

Spring quality is a simple sulfur spring containing a lot of minerals, which is said to have efficacy in nervousness and such.

It was cozy but very unique place, I think, and so peaceful for me to be able to hear river sounds and see beautiful green tea fields while taking a bath🛀🌿🏞

Our Story

Since 2012, I’ve self-managed Momotaro for 5 years as a budget-friendly hostel for travelers including solo backpackers from more than 50 countries. In 2018, I reopened Momotaro as a home devoted specifically to travelling groups and families staying in the heart of Shizuoka city.

Our accommodations are ideal for everything from holidays with friends to budget business and sports trip bcause we provide a whole private floor (like a house) at a value price (like a hostel) guests can enjoy their own stay in “Houstel Style”! The atmosphere of Momotaro is relaxing, clean, comfortable and safe with a focus on personal hospitality. If you are looking for friendly and welcoming with a relaxing, cozy accommodation for small group on a budget, Momotaro is your place! We welcome small class trip, sporting team, special interest groups or just groups of friends, so why not get in touch today!

If you are visiting Shizuoka for an event at the Twinmesse or Granship, this place has a good access to there by direct bus. There are great annual big event in Shizuoka, for example, Shizuoka Marathon in March, Hobby Show at Twinmesse in May, World Theater Festival at Granship and downtown in May, and Daidogei (street performance) World Cup in November!

Also, our properties are ideal for focus on your things or settle for long-term travellers between Tokyo and Osaka (or any big city), as like your house.
