This weekend, from October 10th to 12th, the annual “Sumida Park Cinema” event will be held at Sumida Park Soyokaze Hiroba!
“Lokanta”—a restaurant specializing in lasagna and world cuisine located on the first floor of Sumidanagaya—will be setting up a stall there for one day only, on Sunday the 11th.
With clear weather forecast, we’ll be serving lasagna, quiche, soup, and w**e for you to enjoy while watching movies outdoors on a pleasant autumn evening!
Please note that the main restaurant will be closed this week due to our participation in this event.

I look forward to the different designs each month.
The typeface used this month isn’t an original one; apparently, it is a font called CoFo Cinema1909.

We visited Hanoi, Vietnam, to explore the cuisine for “Lokanta,” a restaurant located on the ground floor of Sumidanagaya.
Here is some of the food we enjoyed in Vietnam.
Thank you to everyone who provided us with recommendations!
The crab noodle soup and fried pho were delicious.
The traditional Hanoi dishes we had at Tamvi restaurant were incredibly tasty, with a gentle, comforting flavor.
We even made a reservation to dine there again the following evening.
We want to travel the world and experience a wide variety of cuisines!

After the trip, I posted about transportation options like buses, the metro, and Grab.

I recently visited Hanoi, Vietnam; fifty years have passed since the war, and the city is bustling with energy—with most of the cars on the road being EVs from a Vietnamese manufacturer.
It is hard to imagine that this was the site of such horrific scenes just half a century ago.
Hanoi was subjected to intense aerial bombing by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War.
I visited the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, a site containing royal palace ruins.
Within the complex, there is an underground bunker that served as the headquarters for the Vietnam People’s Army, where military operations were planned.
The stairs leading deep underground and the submarine-style bulkhead doors left a strong impression on me.
I also saw many artworks created during the Vietnam War at various museums and galleries.
In some instances, entire floors were dedicated to war-related art.
Through these works, I could sense the raw reality of a country that had endured a fierce conflict some fifty years ago.

“ネルソンさん、あなたは人を殺しましたか？”を観ました。
先日ベトナム、ハノイに行きましたが、戦後50年が経ち、活気があり、走っている車は殆どがベトナムメーカーのEVです。
50年前にあんな悲惨な光景が蹴り広げられた場所だとは全く感じられません。
ベトナム戦争時、ハノイはアメリカ軍の激しい空爆があったそうです。
王宮の遺跡、タンロン城址遺跡を見学しました。
遺跡群の中に地下バンカーがあり、ベトナム人民軍総本部として軍事作戦の計画がたてられていた場所でした。
地下深くまで続く階段、潜水艦にある様な扉が印象的でした。
また、博物館、美術館ではベトナム戦争時に描かれた作品を多く観ます。
1フロアが戦争に関する作品だったりします。
戦後50年、激しい内戦のあった国の生々しさを作品から受けました。

GRAB is very convenient for getting around Hanoi.
Fares within the city are just a few hundred yen.
You can also schedule rides to the airport in advance, and the driver will arrive right on time.
The trip from Hoan Kiem Lake to Noi Bai International Airport took about an hour and cost 393,000 VND (approx. 2,300 yen).
Since we had luggage, we chose a six-seater gasoline vehicle. By the way, if you are getting around the city, I recommend choosing a small electric vehicle; there are so many of them on the road that it is easy to book one.
Make sure to install the Grab app and register your account and credit card before you travel!
Also, please note that from 7:00 PM to midnight on Fridays, and from Saturday through midnight on Sundays, the Old Quarter and the area around Hoan Kiem Lake become pedestrian-only zones where vehicle access is restricted.
When checking out and heading to the airport, you need to specify a pickup point outside the restricted zone, or else you won’t be able to catch a GRAB.
On my trip, I arranged to meet my GRAB driver at a spot about five minutes from the hotel at 8:00 PM.
I hope this information proves useful if you ever visit Hanoi.
Oh, I want to go somewhere again!

Hanoi Metro
Currently, the elevated sections of two lines—Line 2A and Line 3—are in operation.
I was able to board easily using contactless credit card payment.
I took the train from Cat Linh Station (on Line 2A) to Lang Station, a journey of three stops.
Cat Linh Station is located in central Hanoi, near the Hanoi Center shopping mall.
The fare for the three-stop trip was 9,000 VND (approximately 50 yen).
This time, I went to see an exhibition of works by young Vietnamese artists at VCCA (Vincom Center Contemporary Art).
VCCA is a spacious gallery where you can view exhibitions for free.
VCCA is located inside Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, a massive underground shopping complex.
The area above ground features an Italian-style garden that feels nothing like Vietnam.
If you are interested in contemporary art, it is well worth a visit.

ハノイメトロ
現在は2A号線と3号線の2線の高架部分が運行中。
乗車はクレジットカードのタッチ決済で簡単に乗れました。
2Aのカットリン駅から3駅のLang駅迄の乗車です。
カットリン駅はハノイの中心部、ハノイセンターショッピングモールの近くにあります。
3駅移動で9,000D（約50円くらいです）
今回はVCCA(Vincom Center Contemporary Art)で開催されているベトナム若手芸術展を観に行きました。
VCCAは広いギャラリーで無料で展示を観る事が可能です。
VCCAはVincom Mega Mall Royal Cityと言う巨大な地下モールの中にあります。地上はベトナム感が全く無いイタリアンな感じの庭園になってます。
現代芸術に興味があれば行くと良いでしょう。
