Have you heard of Sarubobo Shrine, a special place dedicated to one of Hida’s most beloved local symbols, the adorable “Sarubobo”? 🐒❤️

The shrine is believed to bring blessings for good relationships and safe childbirth. With its cute ema prayer plaques and omamori charms, it’s also a lovely spot to visit while exploring Takayama.

The shrine enshrines a spirit transferred from Hida Toshogu Shrine and offers unique goshuin stamps and a variety of Sarubobo souvenirs that can only be found here.

During your visit, be sure to stop by Sarubobo Shrine and experience a little piece of Hida’s local culture. 🌼

The shrine also holds its annual festival, where old Sarubobo dolls and those that have fulfilled their purpose are respectfully collected.
