「木々が鬱蒼と茂る、未開の地」
昔から、そう呼ばれていた熊野は、かつての紀伊国牟婁（むろ）郡、現在の和歌山県南部～三重県南部をさし、現在でもその片鱗がうかがえ、豊かな森に包まれています。
温暖多雨の気候に育てられた豊かな「森」、豊かな森に端を発する「川」、黒潮に育てられた「海岸・海」そのすべてを体験できる紀伊半島熊野地方。
豊かな自然に包まれていることはさることながら、その文化的な背景を認められ、修験の「吉野」、神仏習合の「熊野」、真言密教の「高野山」と、三種の山岳霊場を結ぶ参詣道、熊野古道（紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道）は2006年6月にUNESCO世界遺産に登録されております。

We paddled continue on the fresh water, Dorokyo Gorge section of Kitayama river.
And we visited Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine and Maruyama-senmaida 1000 rice fields after kayaking.

We got on the fresh water, Dorokyo Gorge section of Kitayama river.
It felt great to drift down the river with the flow.

It was chill day.
We didn't paddle, it was kind of cultural day.
We hiked a part of Yakiyamagoe section of Kumano Kodo and visited Japanese dram group "Kijo-Daiko"

Another vert nice day for seakayaking.
We paddled Atshika to Mikisato.
This is one of the best section in Kimano coast, big granite walls and big swells.

We played at some rock garden kn the way.

It was Day 1, meeting and visited Ise-jingu shrine and prepared for get on the boat.
We are gonna be on the water tomorrow.
