Staying here means enjoying the presence of our little residents. They come in the compound early evening to spend the night here, feeding on our green natural vegetation, protected from predators.

Impalas (or rooiboks) area medium-sized antelope found in eastern and southern Africa. Not all were created equal though.
The common impala, that you can find in most parks in Kenya, is numerous and lives in grasslands.
But the black-faced impala, below, larger and darker, is an endangered subspecies only found in southwestern Angola and northwestern Namibia.
