We can’t let this day end without celebrating the mammal with the largest brain. No wonder they never forget. Elephants are an integral part of the ecosystem here at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and though they like to keep to themselves they don’t mind hanging out with a bird or two.

This World Elephant Day we celebrate the gains made against the poaching of these gentle giants. We are happy that we can see more and more of them.

Our guests bumped into these lions during a game drive today. Happy Lion Day!

Some facts, lions are social animals that live in structures called prides. During the ongoing wildebeest migration, the lions have plenty of food that enables them to procreate and nurture young cubs.

Near the Mara Sun Lodge, we have a pride that lives nearby called the Ngiro-are Pride - with more than ten lions. A formidable force indeed.

It’s World Rangers Day today and before the sun goes down we wanted to say thanks for the amazing work that these rangers do in overseeing and maintaining order in the National Parks of this country, and for us specifically at the Mara Triangle.

With the Wildebeest migration happening right now, we appreciate their presence and strictness more than ever.

Happy and Asante sana 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙂 God bless.

The sun has set on what we can only describe as a fantastic weekend. We had some amazing guests staying with us this weekend and they all managed to spot at least 4 of the big five.

We are glad to be back in business and see the visitors coming into the park. If you are planning your trip, you can come watch the migration with us.

Karibuni sana. 🙏🏾

The plains below our lodge are home to the Ngirare Pride. It’s a massive pride with 22 lions, including 12 cubs. They get their name from an area nearby and always seem to get along really well. We spotted a couple within the pride that are currently mating.
