Food has always been a big part of life here, and over the years we’ve had people come from up and down the coast just for lunch - fresh fish, our crab dishes, a cold drink and an afternoon by the sea.

And we love that!

A week here ✨🌴

The season is changing - the wind shifts, the sea calms, the sky softens. Sawa Sawa dhow comes back infront of the bay.

We love every season here, but October is one of our favorites - it has a slower kind of pace than the others. Cool, calm and breezy.

THE WIND IS CHANGING.

The Kuzi may be slowing down, but it won’t be long before the Kaskazi makes its way back to Che Shale.

From around mid-December through to mid-April, the north-easterly Kaskazi usually builds after lunch, averaging around 15–20 knots - warm water, long afternoons on the ocean and plenty of space to ride.

Kiting has been part of life at Che Shale for more than two decades. Our kite school has been here since 1999, and with an uncrowded bay right on our doorstep, you can keep an eye on the wind from your banda, the restaurant or the beach and head out when it comes up.

Bring your own gear or come learn with us. Our team can help with lessons, equipment, launching and landing, and when the wind isn't up, there are far worse places to wait for it.

Kaskazi is coming. Time to plan your next adventure.
