Our lovely guests decided to give Chef a break last night. They bought two goats from the community, and helped prepare them “Asian style” for our staff. What an amazing way to create true cultural exchange. Ashe oleng pii (thank you very much, in the Maa language)!!!

Our lodge manager woke up this morning to a visit by our resident leopard.

Samburu women during a rain dance near Ol Lentille. In this case, the women were giving thanks for the unseasonal rains which broke a long spell of drought. Chanting and praying in a dry river bed and stopping at every fig tree, to douse it with milk, as a way of giving thanks.

More on our painted dogs. After losing their morning hunt to a pack of hyenas, they caught an impala later in the day. When we came across them they were finishing off the last bits of it.

A pack of 20 painted wolves roaming around Ol Lentille lodge

Thrilling adventure yesterday! We knew a leopard had made its territory close to the lodge because we kept finding its kills. So we decided to try and track it on foot. After an hour following its tracks, it suddenly appeared about 30 meters away from us. Just long enough for a quick glimpse, before disappearing into bush.
