"I first joined Elewana at Sand River in the Mara over a decade ago, working as a security guard. It wasn’t long before I was offered training as a receptionist, and from there my journey grew: learning finance, administration, and eventually stepping into the role of lodge controller.
When I was approached for management, I felt the weight of the unknown, but with the right attitude and the support of an organisation that opens doors, I kept moving forward. Today, I am proud to serve as Camp Manager at Lewa Safari Camp, living proof that with opportunity and determination, growth is limitless.
What I love most about the bush is its serenity, though it comes with moments of pure adrenaline, like the time I found myself in the middle of a herd of buffalo that had wandered into camp. The trick, in the wild and in life, is to stay calm and keep your wits.
Everyday I work to bring that same steadiness to my team and our guests, putting people at ease and ensuring everything runs smoothly. My greatest strength is adaptability: being able to step into any role, understand what’s needed, and get it done.
