On behalf of Olimba, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who reached out to check if the camp and the Olimba family are safe. We are grateful to say that, so far, all is well and we hope the situation will remain stable and controllable. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the camps and community homes that have been affected. 🤍

The rains are back, as well our wild residents have made a joyful return.

Early this morning a crocodile was basking by the old fig tree, a graceful bushbuck was spotted wandering & browsing in the garden as if it owns the place, hippos by night will take their turn, emerging from Talek river, baboons at dusk will resume to their den and our resident leopard will be on silent patrol.

In Olimba Camp we say the wilderness is not a story; it’s our everyday experience.

OLIMBA EVENINGS
After a day on Safari, we welcome our guests to gather around the bone fire & unwind as our proud Maasai Warriors showcase their rich cultural performances. Masai music is so unique that despite using minimal instruments, the warriors are able to create rhythmic harmonies through deep guttural chants, synchronized head movements,graceful swings, soaring jumps and the haunting call of a kudu horn.

Last June, we had the incredible honor of welcoming Olympian and world-class skier Sabrina Wanjiku Simader at Olimba Mara Camp. On safari with us, she shared her thoughts on nature, her passion for competitive skiing, and even her spirit animal—the elusive leopard 🐆

At the time, we didn’t know that Sabrina would soon retire, closing an extraordinary chapter in sports history. As the first professional African ski racer, she has broken barriers, inspired countless young athletes, and shown the world the power of courage, determination, and trailblazing spirit.

We are proud to have captured a small moment of her journey—a moment of reflection, curiosity, and wonder—just as she continues to leave an unforgettable mark on the world.

Here’s to you Sabrina, a pioneer, a champion, and an inspiration to all of us!
