Out here in the Mara, a lioness is everything to her cubs. Protector. Provider. Teacher. From their very first breath, she carries the weight of their survival hunting through exhaustion, standing guard through the night, and gently grooming them in the quiet moments between it all.

Every nuzzle, every watchful glance, every scar she earns tells a story of resilience. Because for her cubs to reach adulthood, she must endure it all.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the fierce, tender, and extraordinary mothers of the wild and everywhere.
