Trout & About Fishing camp and camping grounds. Trout and About is a fishing camp situated in the forest at the foot of The Aberdare Ranges.

Stemming from a partnership with the Kenya Forest Service and the Kiburu Community Forest Association, Trout and About provides a safe place where one can get lost in nature to rejuvenate. Whether you are looking for breath-taking scenery, an abundance of wildlife or activities galore, our camp site has it all enabling you to disconnect by exploring the forest's diverse flora and fauna. Hugged by

the ancient red cedar trees that stand proudly throughout the site, Trout and About delivers the feeling of complete isolation from the world. We have no electricity and network coverage is minimal. Thus, you get to nestle yourself in the woodland for a true sense of seclusion. Winding paths loop through the site branching off in various directions, creating an almost secret garden-like feeling. At this haven for nature lovers, you will enjoy star gazing at our bonfire as the night falls and fall asleep to the soothing sound of the river. The campsite is family-friendly and popular with groups of all ages. We have idyllic picnic sites along the Kiburu River and out staff is happy to offer advice on the best spots. We have spacious pitches for our campers to enjoy as well as several family sized safari tents with two separate rooms. Facilities

Although we offer a back-to-basics kind of camping experience, the following facilities are available for the comfort of our campers:
- Lounge with sitting and dining area
- Fully equipped kitchen (self-catering option available)
- Well stocked bar
- Fire pit for a bonfire and firewood
- Toilet and shower
- A natural swimming pool
- Tents (subject to availability)
- Ample parking

Activities

The camp is host to a range of wildlife from ducks, birds endemic to this region, insects and small mammals which are easy to spot when sitting quietly fishing. Other activities include:
- Hiking
- Mountain climbing (guides provided)
- Sport fishing
- Bird watching
- Swimming
- Forest bathing and nature walks
- Board games
- Reading
- Fish farm tour
