As the first light reaches the shores, local fishermen head out on traditional Dhows, returning with the freshest catch that supplies homes, markets and kitchens along this coastline. It’s a tradition built on knowledge of the tides and reefs that has been passed from one generation to the next, forming part of the cultural fabric of the Swahili coast.
