Starting over after 50.
There’s something nobody tells you about starting over in your 50s.
It’s not particularly glamorous.
There are days when you feel brave and hopeful… and there are days when you wonder what on earth you’re doing.
I’ve had to let go of things I thought would work. I’ve had businesses that didn’t work out. I’ve had seasons where I questioned whether I still had anything left to give.
And honestly? Some days, I still question it.
But I’m learning that starting over doesn’t mean starting from zero.
I’m starting with everything I’ve learned.
The mistakes.
The experience.
The failures.
The things I got right.
The things I now know I never want to do again. 😂
I’m starting with a lifetime of stories, skills, recipes, relationships, ideas and a stubborn little belief that there is still something meaningful ahead of me.
So I’m building again.
Not trying to be 25.
Not pretending I have it all figured out.
Not chasing someone else’s definition of success.
Just trying to build a life and work that actually feel like me.
And maybe that’s what this chapter is really about.
Not starting over.
Starting again—with everything I know now.
If you’re in your own “starting again” season, I hope you know this:
You are not too old.
You are not too late.
And you are definitely not starting from zero. ❤️
Here’s to the next chapter.
