Selected once again in the MICHELIN Guide 2026.
We are delighted to share that The Charming Lonno Lodge, in Watamu, Kenya, is once again part of the MICHELIN Guide selection.
MICHELIN Guide Inspectors travel anonymously and independently, staying as any guest would, and every selection is discussed and decided as a team. Hotels are assessed against five universal criteria: the connection to the destination, the excellence of architecture and design, the quality and consistency of service, the authenticity and character of the place, and the value of the experience for what guests pay.
Being recognised on those terms means a great deal to us. Lonno was imagined as a small, private retreat on a cliff above the Indian Ocean, just outside Watamu: nine rooms, where the sea, the light and the quiet of the coast set the pace of every day. The MICHELIN Guide describes its selected hotels as remarkable places, each promising a stay full of quality and character. It is exactly what we try to offer, one guest at a time.
This selection joins a recognition we are proud to have earned year after year: Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice every year since 2011, and Travelers' Choice Best of the Best every year since its introduction in 2020. Today, The Charming Lonno Lodge is also the only property on the Kenyan coast selected in the MICHELIN Guide.
