Watamu Beach was recently rated the second best beach in Africa by CNN Travel and Watamu Treehouse is situated on the nicest and quietest part of Watamu Beach – a beautiful stretch of white sand with no hotels nearby - only other houses. The Treehouse is located on one of the only plots that

still maintain the original forest. The house was built in 1995, extended in 2003 and then again in 2013. To keep the forest intact, the house was built as towers coming up from the small piece of land that had previously been cleared. Avocados and green leafy vegetables (like spinach and kale) are a “power couple” in nutrition. The healthy fats in avocados act as a delivery system, helping your body absorb the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) and antioxidants found in leafy greens.

This is one of our favourite recipes. Save for later!

Ingredients (for 2)
1 leek
2 garlic cloves
1 can cannellini beans
½ cup fresh mint leaves
½ cup fresh parsley leaves
½ cup fresh dill
1 ripe avocado
1 tbsp. olive oil
1½ cups frozen peas
200g fresh spinach, kale or cavalo nero (or a combination)
3½ tbsp. yogurt
Salt and black pepper

🥬 heat the olive oil in a pan and cook the leak and garlic first
Add the beans and peas and cook for a few more minutes
Add the leafy greens, cook and stir
When the greens are cooked and the peas are thawed through, take off the heat and add the finely chopped fresh herbs
Season it well!
We like to add more olive oil on top at the end
Add the slices of avocado on top
Dollop on your yoghurt

The next time you're working on a project, cooking a meal, making something, doing a kind action for someone you love, remember that the small details MATTER! It's what makes you unique, it's what will bring out your one-of-a-kind flavour that only you can bring. Never ever listen to the voice that says "this is so small it doesn't matter" or "who will even notice" or "i don't have time."

The little artistic details that we didn't NEED to make for the structural integrity of Treehouse are actually the things that MAKE Treehouse what it is.

To make things beautiful, to create beauty is what it means to be human.
