It may be the middle of low season but there’s still lots to do in Siem Reap!

Rain rarely lasts all day so you can always find something to do. And even if it is raining, then there are lots of indoor attractions.

Why not visit the amazing Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium and marvel at the wide range of wildlife? Or visit one of the museums and learn about the history of the Khmer Empire that once ruled most of Southeast Asia?

Of course, if it’s dry, there’s plenty to do. There is the obvious choice of visiting the Angkor Park; it’s much more than Angkor Wat with more than 70 major temples dotted around. Or have a sunset dinner on the Tonle Sap Lake to enjoy great food while watching the sun go down. It’s now the middle of low season but that doesn’t mean we’re slacking off! We’re still busy with bookings and our amazing maintenance teams are taking the opportunity to freshen up rooms, carry out any necessary repairs, and make the hotel even better for next high season.

One of the big differences between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh (other than no pollution, the lack of traffic, less flooding, I could go on…) is that the town seems to enter a state of semi-hibernation during low season. While that can mean that many businesses are counting every riel to ensure survival, it also means that it can be a great time to visit.

Sure, it can rain a lot, and when it rains, it really rains, but there are more dry hours than wet ones.

If you fancy a few days' break from Phnom Penh (or from Kampot, Kep, Sihanoukville, etc.), then why not book a stay at Antonio’s Villa Hotel and Annexe?

It’s the middle of the year, or at least just past it. That means the days are getting shorter, not that you’d notice it here in Cambodia.

We’re already getting a lot of bookings for next high season which is always a good thing and hopefully airfares will drop and we’ll see more tourists next season.

Of course, there are still a few months to go and it makes us really happy to see that booking levels are consistent in low season. We get a nice mix of tourists and people living in Cambodia and have everything from one-night bookings to a full month!

We offer two fantastic pools and a range of activities in case the weather turns a little wet (it happens!). Our tranquil location on the riverside is ideal to just kick back and chill or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, we’re only five minutes from the town centre.

We’re looking for a breakfast chef to work from 7am till 3pm, 6 days per week.

On offer is a competitive salary including NSSF contributions as well as the opportunity to grow and learn within one of the best teams in Siem Reap.

Your package will include free use of hotel facilities and you will also receive 50% discount on all menu items when not working.

You should have experience of cooking both Asian and western dishes. Our old menu is attached as an example although this will be getting revised soon.

We’d like you to start as soon as possible and there is already a kitchen assistant in place.

Meanwhile in Cambodia, it falls bloody everywhere and this is just a taste of things to come!

I don’t know about you but these grey days can sometimes get me down. I got drenched yesterday riding home from shopping because I thought the rain had stopped. Doh!

In fact, sometimes I’d be quite happy chilling on the sofa and binging something on Netflix.

Then I realise there is nothing for dinner and I always feel guilty about those poor delivery drivers and then I remember that they rely on us lazy gits to order food so they have a decent salary. So, if you’re feeling like not moving from the sofa, why not order some hot and tasty food from Antonio’s Villa Hotel and Annexe? You can find us on both Nham24 and FoodPanda. So, what are your plans for the summer? The incoming tourists may be fewer now that high season’s past but we’re still seeing a lot of bookings – from expats and locals – for people who want a break in Siem Reap.

There may be varying amounts of rain but that doesn’t stop our guests from having a great time. The rain usually (but not always) doesn’t appear until late afternoon, meaning you have most of the day to visit the sites. If you’ve already done all the tourist sites, why not simply laze by one of our two fantastic pools?

We have some of the friendliest and most attentive staff in town who will ensure you always have a cold or refreshing drink or something delicious from our extensive menu.

If lazing about isn’t your thing, we have a fantastic pool table, table tennis, or a range of board games. The whole point of any break is to relax the way YOU want to.
