🌿 Travel Advisory Update – Good News 🌿

We’re happy to share an important update with our community and future guests.

🇬🇧 The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has reduced the advisory zone near the Thai–Cambodian border from 50 km to 20 km.
As a result, Canvas & Orchids Retreat is no longer located within any advisory or “risk” zone ✅

🌱 The situation on the ground has always remained calm, safe, and peaceful.
We are fully operational, welcoming guests, including children, and all experiences and activities continue as normal in the heart of the Cardamom Rainforest.

Another positive sign for Koh Kong: the Provincial Labor Department has confirmed factories will resume work from 25 December. Life here continues calmly, and things are steadily returning to normal.

SAFETY @ Canvas

We temporarily paused operations on December 13, 14, and 15 as a precaution and to take the time to gather real, actual information.

At the moment, the situation around Koh Andet and Tatai is calm, and there is no active fighting in our area. We are 39 kms from the Thai border, and 46kms from Koh Yor where the incidents took place last Dec 13, where the army base is situated.

Our hotel manager - Paulo visited Koh Kong City yesterday and observed the quiet and calm in the city, with no military presence as it is concentrated at the Cham yeam border.
Some partner suppliers are also back to business.
Virak Buntham are operating their logistics services.

That is why we decided to reopen tomorrow with a small and efficient team.

Our guests who are coming have been clearly informed about the situation and about the uncertainty. They have made their decision themselves, to come.

We cannot guarantee how the situation will evolve. If the situation changes, we will act immediately and put safety first, as we did before.

Canvas team takes full responsibility to bring the guests to safety in case the conflicts recur in Cham yeam border.
