🇰🇭 New Milestone: $60M Rural Connectivity Project Launched Across 6 Provinces! 🛣️🏗️
Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development has officially invited bids for the Sustainable Rural Connectivity Improvement Project (SRCIP). Backed by a $60 million loan from South Korea's EDCF, this massive 32-month initiative will transform rural infrastructure.
Project Highlights:
41 Bridges (Total length: 2,105m)
Access Roads (Total length: 11,189m)
6 Target Provinces: Kratie, Stung Treng, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng, and Kampong Chhnang.
A proud step forward in boosting local economies and improving the daily lives of rural communities! 💚
Beyond boosting local trade, this improved infrastructure will be a game-changer for eco-tourism. Better roads and safer bridges mean easier, more reliable access for international and local travelers eager to experience Cambodia’s natural heritage—especlly in key riverside provinces like Kratie and Stung Treng. Most importantly, by creating smoother, well-managed overland travel routes, the project naturally helps reduce heavy boat traffic and community reliance on critical river corridors, seamlessly supporting the protection of the Mekong’s precious dolphin habitats.
