In the Khmer language, the Butterfly Pea means immortal flower. In traditional medicine, the Butterfly Pea is described as being an antidepressant. It is said to diminish stress and enhance memory; to bring an overall serene feeling. Throughout Southeast Asia, the Butterfly Pea is used in preparing food and drinks in the local culture. The flowers are dipped into batter

and fried; or added to rice as it is cooking. Butterfly tea is made from the flowers. They are also used for a natural food coloring; coloring food and drinks from a light blue tint to bright blue or purple. In naming our property the Butterfly Pea Hotel, we wanted to
reflect not only on the beauty of this immortal flower, but also its
