Day 7.
It's hard to believe it's only been a week.
This week has been full of long days, mistakes, improvements, late nights, great conversations, and an overwhelming amount of support from this community.
Thank you to everyone who has ordered, dined with us, recommended us to a friend, left a review, or simply stopped by to say hello. We genuinely read every message, every comment, every suggestion, and every review. The positive ones motivate us, and the critical ones help us improve. We're still learning, and we'll keep making little changes every day.
This week we also added our grilled wraps to the menu, and there are plenty more ideas we're excited to bring over the coming weeks.
Something we've been thinking about a lot lately is that a small business never succeeds on its own.
The lady we've been buying bread from smiles every time we come by because we're helping her business too. The small local shops we buy ingredients from benefit. Our Khmer staff go home knowing there's work tomorrow. Our landlord and his family benefit because we chose to lease this property. The local laundry service benefits. Delivery drivers benefit. Every customer who walks through the door becomes part of that chain.
That's what makes Siem Reap special.
We're not here to compete against the city—we want to be part of what makes it great. We've even had fellow restaurant owners come in, order food, share advice, and wish us well. That means a lot to us. There is room for everyone to succeed, and we'd much rather see local businesses lifting each other up than trying to tear each other down.
Of course, not every comment online will be kind. That's just part of putting yourself out there. We don't delete criticism simply because it's critical. If it's honest, we'll listen. If it's useful, we'll learn from it. Then we'll get back into the kitchen and keep working.
At the end of the day, that's all we can do.
