Here is the presentation of the photo Angkor Experience:
Off the beaten track
– photo adventures into hidden gems of Angkor Archaeological Park
What you'll do
This experience's focus is to visit, learn and take some photographs in some of the most interesting and least visited sites spots in Angkor Archaeological Park. It is an adventure you take after visiting the most famous temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm.
Enjoy a bike ride or a tuk-tuk into Angkor Park, and a walk under the canopy of trees, listening to the fauna and enjoying the smell of the flora. Then be introduced to temple remains not visited by many, but not less interesting. Be given advice on how to get the best out of the photo opportunities they offer.
Here you need an enthusiast who will help you walk, find, and explore. The enchanting part is getting there through the jungle, finding temples without crowds, making time to find your angles, your lightning, and your memories, garnished with related stories and useful tips.
To make sure you get the most out of this experience, we try to keep a slow pace and spend the time needed on each spot. That means travelling in small groups. We are looking for that playful light, enjoying the warming rays on cold stone, listening to the sound of the forest and taking in the smells of flowers and plants.
Option: This trip is by mountain bike or tuk-tuk. We can go by car too if that is preferred.
Meet your Host, Dag
The first time I visited Siem Reap 14 years ago, a connection was made to the culture and nature of Angkor Park. I have been based in Siem Reap for the last 7 years. I bike out to explore the Angkor Temples every week, always with camera. Finding new and revisiting some of the hidden temples and sites off the beaten track brings me knowledge and peace of mind, away from the most crowded temples and tourist buses. I will share some of my favourite places with you, making the experience like visiting hidden gems with a friend, enthusiastic about the cultural heritage, and photographing unique personal memories. I will be offering my knowledge as a photographer, as a storyteller, and as a passionate guy about the Khmer Civilisation and culture.
