We are honoured to be featured in Newsweek, discussing how regenerative tourism is redefining luxury through authenticity, emotion, and deep connection to people and place.
Reflecting on our roots, founder Melita Koulmandas shares how our journey began with two tiny islands, a struggling reef, and a belief that tourism should give back more than it takes. From an experimental no-take zone grew Cambodia’s first protected marine park—now spanning 524 km², where marine life and hornbills returned within eighteen months.
As Melita notes, “Luxury has evolved. It’s no longer about gold taps or marble; it’s about authenticity, emotion, and connection with people and place.”
This milestone belongs entirely to our community: our dedicated team, our neighbouring villages, and every guest who has walked this path with us.
