​Even with their busy travel schedule exploring Korea, they warmed our hearts by telling us, “Out of all the places we stayed, this was absolutely the best.”

​It is incredibly touching to feel that beyond the barrier of language and culture, the deep warmth and cozy comfort of our traditional home were fully delivered to their hearts.

하와이에서 온 특별한 선물 🌺

하와이 교포 가족 3대, 6분이 저희 고택에서 하룻밤을 머무셨습니다.
저녁에는 봉정사를 둘러보고, 다음 날 경주로 떠나는 짧은 일정이었지만, 고택에서의 시간을 무척 소중하게 간직해 주셨습니다.
출발하는 아침, 수필가이신 할머니께서 "너무 편안하고 행복한 시간이었다"며 하와이에서 귀한 손님을 맞이할 때 선물하는 전통 **레이(Lei)**를 제 목에 걸어 주셨습니다.
또한 현재 출판 중인 자신의 수필집도 보내주시겠다는 따뜻한 약속을 남기셨습니다.
한옥은 단순한 숙소가 아니라, 사람과 사람이 마음으로 이어지는 공간이라는 것을 다시 한번 느낀 아침이었습니다.

A Special Gift from Hawaii 🌺

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming three generations of a Korean-Hawaiian family—six guests in total—to our historic hanok.

After visiting nearby Bongjeongsa Temple in the evening, they planned to continue their journey to Gyeongju the next day.

Before leaving, the grandmother, an essayist, told me how peaceful and meaningful their stay had been. She placed this beautiful Hawaiian lei around my neck—a traditional gift of welcome, appreciation, and aloha.

She also kindly promised to send me a copy of her published collection of essays.

Moments like these remind us that a hanok is more than a place to stay—it is a place where hearts connect across cultures and generations.

덴마크에서 온 특별한 손님.

며칠 전 덴마크에서 온 젊은 여성 여행자 한 분이 저희 140여 년 된 고택에 이틀 동안 머무셨습니다.

많은 여행객들이 유명 관광지를 찾아다니는 것과 달리, 그녀는 대부분의 시간을 고택에서 보내며 조용히 쉬고, 생각하고, 자신을 돌아보는 시간을 가졌습니다.

떠나는 날 아침, 그녀는 손수 쓴 편지 한 장을 남겨 주었습니다.

"이곳에서 보낸 며칠은 매우 치유되는 시간이었습니다."
"아침 식사는 제 영혼의 양식이었습니다."

숙소를 운영하며 많은 손님을 만났지만, 이런 진심 어린 마음이 담긴 편지는 그 어떤 선물보다도 값지고 소중합니다.

140년 넘는 세월 동안 이 집이 품어 온 이야기와 기운이 먼 나라에서 온 한 여행자의 마음에도 닿았다는 사실에 깊은 감사와 보람을 느낍니다.

소중한 인연에 감사드리며, 그녀의 앞날에 건강과 행복이 가득하기를 바랍니다.

A Special Guest from Denmark.

A few days ago, a young traveler from Denmark stayed at our 140-year-old traditional Korean house for two nights.

Unlike many visitors who spend their time visiting famous tourist attractions, she chose to stay at the hanok, taking time to rest, reflect, and simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic place.

On the morning of her departure, she left us a handwritten letter.

"It has been a very healing few days."
"The breakfast was great nourishment for my soul."

Over the years, we have welcomed many guests, but heartfelt words like these are more valuable than any gift.

It means a great deal to know that the history, spirit, and warmth of this house have touched the heart of a traveler from far away.

We are deeply grateful for this precious connection and wish her health, happiness, and many wonderful journeys ahead.
