Backpackers INSIDE

Hello everybody,

My name is Soraya Haider and I worked at Backpackers Inside in 2017-2018. During that time period I made a lot of friends that I to this day still miss.

I recently moved to my own apartment in Amsterdam and one of my friends gave me a gift for my new home. I miss Korea a lot and I was supposed to be back this year. However due to covid I was not able to travel. When I heard the news of Backpackers closing I was really really sad, so when my friend gave me this I immediately got tears to my eyes. As you can see, the heart is exactly where Backpackers is.

Dear Min and Mia, thank you so much for providing us a home away from home. Not only me, but I am sure that many people around the world made long time friends at Backpackers. We could all feel the warmth and love that you put into that place. I really hope the Hostel will open again, but more than that I hope that you will be happy with whatevee life offers you ❤

And to all the people I met at Backpackers, I hope you all are healthy and safe 🙇🏽‍♀️

Thank you all your good memories with INSIDE.
Don't be sad too much, we will be back some day with upgraded version.

So far now we are spending every shiny day together.
I will keep updating our adventure with you as much as I can.

Hello ALL INSIDERs~

This is Min.
First of all , I want to write / update my 2020 even it is really difficult to summarize all in one writing.


*Winter (~Feb) :
COVID-19 pandemic effects on INSIDE was so strong.
Me & Mia finally decided to close all hostel building.
=Try to live happy today , we need to leave this stable INSIDE.

* Spring (~May) :
Sell all living stuffs / terminate contracts my room & 2-INSIDE hostel building except main building
=Try to be a minimalist so we are ready to travel anywhere (but only in Korea.)

*Summer (~Aug)
got a new idea, renovate INSIDE main building from guesthouse to share house.
bought a car & caravan then we are ready to travel !
=Be free from a burden and gave a real vacation to ourselves.

* Autumn(~Nov)
= Being a nomad traveler, find a new place and meet new people who giving us inspiration.

We are just enjoying the unpredictable today.

Tanya's real things happen here in seoul.

Hello!

In Seoul, the weather is sunny and Cherry Blossom. And although the state recommended self-isolation, we’re all very tired of sitting at home, and people are increasingly going out.
⠀
Personally, I feel very safe here, and I want to clarify that the Korean people are careful and responsible, and the state provides everything necessary:
⠀
✔️Everyone wears masks, and if you are without a mask, then people come up to you and offer a mask as a gift. At the same time, not wearing a mask here is considered very selfish!
✔️Volunteers now sew masks and send them to banks, hospitals, distribute to those in need and those who couldn’t find / buy.
❌At the same time, in a pharmacy one person can buy only two masks per week! Therefore there is no shortage.
✔️Hand antiseptics are installed absolutely everywhere: bottles are even glued to the handles when exiting the buses!
✔️ Courier delivery is organized even where it has never been: at pharmacies, cafes, grocery and hardware stores - so we simply don’t need to leave the house once again.
✔️ People value and care about couriers, they are passed on the roads, treated with snacks, give them masks.
✔️ During the first weeks of the virus in Korea, almost more people tested than in China for the entire period. Testing is free of charge if there are symptoms and they are organized in all hospitals and even universities and schools that are now quarantined.
❌The biggest danger now is foreigners, Immigrants and international students returning from living abroad.

❌ We don’t have and didn’t have a shortage of any goods in stores. In my opinion, there’s a shortage only where people behave selfishly and buy up excess.

If you try to look for some pluses in what is happening, then, I think, many began to think more about their health, abandon bad habits, play sports. For example, we’re going camping. Well, because apart from this, there’s nothing particularly safe to do in principle.

I’d now divide all Korean people into two groups: those who constantly go to nature, and those who constantly get drunk in bars. I honestly try to stay for the first!
