Synopsis:

Struggling under the weight of debilitating stress and depression, student Yoori begins practicing bungee jumping as a twisted form of exposure therapy—to attempt su***de. But when she arrives at the jump site to confront her fears, she encounters Seon, a failed idol trainee haunted by dark, violent impulses while working part-time there. Their chance meeting spins into a surreal, darkly comic liaison, as the fragile boundary between despair and ambiguous connection begins to blur.

Filled with biting humor and raw emotional beats, Drowning in Ecstasy dives into themes of mental health, societal expectation, and the desperate search for meaning in a world that feels confining. It’s a daring debut feature from a collective of Korean student filmmakers—an irreverent yet poignant exploration of human fragility and the unexpected empathy that might just save us.
