Not in good condition as pre covid but still happy with how the house and garden looks. It's hard to imagine when guests would start arriving in the country.

My second Agent booking went off smoothly. Thank you Ceylon Escapes for sending such a lovely family our way. I think they enjoyed spending time with a local family as did we getting to know them. They left me with a great desire to visit Netherlands someday.

A wonderful review for Morning Sun

Morning Sun Homestay has 2 comfortable bedrooms - one with ensuite bathroom - and a small kitchen. All rooms are tastefully decorated with stylish details. The best is your own private balcony overlooking the courtyard, garden and the railway station of Ambalangoda. The Homestay allows full privacy if you wish so. But it is much more fun to take part of the family life, the neighbours and children and parents who come to the small private classroom in the courtyard. Here you can truely experience the daily life of Sri Lankan families. And you can feel the warm hospitality of all family members of Lahiru: her mother Priyani who is the heart and soul of the family and a really good cook and her sister Thilini with her wonderful 2 children who come here every day. The family is highly educated and open-minded. The best of all is their fine sense of humor and the way that they always look on the bright side of life. We discussed so many topics about Sri Lanka and the world and I also enjoyed watching "the daily dramas" on TV together with them. Ambalangoda is somehow unspoiled from tourism and here you can really experience the daily way of life of the Sri Lankan's. Quite interesting is the mask making industry, the historic mask museum and the antique shops. Don't miss the nearby temples and the wildlife around the lakes and rivers. Beautiful beaches are nearby and you can explore the surroundings by train, tuk tuk, bus or motorbike. I can only highly recommend Lahiru's Homestay. I will surely come back. Thank you for everything.

We stayed at Morning Sun Homestay for just one night, but would have loved to spend longer there as Lahiru and her family made us feel so welcome and the apartment is one of the nicest we've stayed in. We particularly enjoyed chatting to Lahiru while enjoying the most delicious breakfast, which was cooked for us by her mother. Morning Sun is located right by the train station and close to the bus station so is very easy to get to and is in a great position both for exploring Ambalangoda and going on day trips. The apartment includes two bedrooms, your own private balcony, an ensuite bathroom and a kitchen, there is also a separate entrance so if you want to be more private the option is there, but we were happy to use the main entrance as the family made us feel so at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed is very comfy. We would highly recommend staying here.
