The Bay an Uga Experience

On 24 September, The Bay an Uga Experience joined the International Coastal Cleanup 2026 programme at Kayankerni and Pasikuda’s Elephant Rock, bringing together 96 volunteers from the Sri Lanka Army, Divisional Secretariat, surrounding communities, Pasikuda hoteliers and Civil Security personnel.

Together, the group collected around 950 kg of waste, including plastic, polythene, glass and metal. The Bay supported the effort by providing refreshments, gloves and garbage bags for those taking part.

Keeping our coastline clean is a shared responsibility. By coming together to care for these shores, we help protect the coastal environment and the communities, wildlife and livelihoods that depend on it.
