Meals on the Bentara River

From our hearts at the home of Sri Lankan hospitality, we are delighted to serve you with the finest in local cuisine. Upon the waters of our Bentota river, Sri Lanka and its delectable food meet in three tailor-made dining experiences featuring colourful island flavours that range from simple rice to exotic spice, all of which are carefully curated by our onboard chef who is always be ready to offer his culinary suggestions onboard Houseboat - Yathra . For the best dining experience, we recommend notifying us of your meal preferences at least 24 hours prior to check-in.

The deck at the aft of our houseboat serves as the main dining area enclosed by strong bamboo pillars and railings for meals in harmony with nature. For a closer experience with our environment however, the open rooftop deck is a magical setting to dine under a carpet of constellations in Sri Lanka’s southern night sky, or watch the sun rise over the aquatic greenery of the Bentara River. But if it is privacy you desire, we can also arrange for your meals to be served in the luxurious comforts of your cabin, or on its attached private balcony for an authentic riverside dining experience.

Staying on this floating home of Sri Lankan hospitality is also distinctly rewarding for its spacious living areas on board the houseboat.
