Behind a small gate in Bentota exists a place that was never planned as a business plan, investor project, or copy of another hotel.
It started with an empty piece of land, too many ideas, recycled treasures from junkyards, handmade details, tropical heat, mistakes, experiments, and the stubborn belief that places can still have soul.
Today that little dream became Red Coconut Villa 🌴
Only three rooms hidden in a tropical garden.
A long pool reflecting palm trees and monsoon skies.
Breakfasts that are never exactly the same twice.
Dogs sleeping in the shade.
The sound of the ocean nearby.
And evenings at 7 Tables Restaurant where every plate is prepared one by one by Chef T. C. Aruna de Silva.
No buffet trays.
No package tourism.
No hotel chain standards.
Just a place created slowly over years by people who love design, food, storytelling, travel, music, nature, and the beauty of things that feel personal.
Sometimes guests arrive for one night and end up staying a week.
Sometimes strangers leave as friends.
Sometimes a dinner turns into a five hour conversation.
And sometimes we still stand here at night looking around thinking:
“How did this little crazy dream actually become real?”
To everyone who visited us, recommended us, wrote a review, shared a story, posted a photo, or simply spoke kindly about us somewhere in the world — thank you.
Small independent places survive because people feel something and decide to tell somebody else about it.
That means everything to us 🌴
