Just a few kilometers from our resort is a turtle station where sea turtles are rescued – those that were born too early, were injured, or would not survive without human help.

Every morning, volunteers carefully check the nests, transfer the eggs to protected incubators, and watch the little hatchlings emerge after a few weeks.

🐢 Help without touching

Visitors have the opportunity to see the turtles up close, but everything is done with respect for their natural environment.

Every visit helps—financial contributions from tours ensure the care of injured turtles and protect their nesting grounds from poachers.

🌅 A moment you will never forget

Sometimes you may be lucky enough to witness the moment when little turtles emerge from the sand and head into the sea for the first time.

In the south of the island, you may encounter scenes familiar from postcards – men sitting on wooden poles directly above the waves. They fish and also enjoy earning extra money by taking photos with tourists. This tradition began long ago, when fishermen were trying to find a way to fish even where the water was waist-deep.

The skill and balance these men have, it's just amazing.

☀️ Coconut paradise on a cliff

Just a few steps from Mirissa Beach, a slope dotted with dozens of coconut palms rises.

Here, the sun sets directly into the ocean and the sky is painted in shades of orange, purple, and gold.

At that moment, you will understand why Coconut Hill has become one of the most photographed places in all of Sri Lanka.

All you can hear is the sound of the sea and the rustling of palm leaves in the wind.

Locals come here to relax, photographers to capture the perfect light—and tourists? They usually lose track of time here.

💡 Tip: If you come here early in the morning, you will have the entire coconut hill to yourself.

But be careful after rain – the red clay can be slippery, so it's a good idea to wear sturdy shoes

On the south coast, about 3 km from the center of Mirissa.

A short 15-minute walk from where the driver drops you off will take you to this beautiful view of the endless ocean.

🎥 It's no wonder that this is where the most famous Instagram shots are taken – everything in this grove simply photographs itself.
