ProGreen Labs of the University of Moratuwa launched this coral restoration project with a simple yet powerful vision to revive the fading coral reefs of Beruwala. With Cinnamon Bey Beruwala providing both financial and community support, and the project backed by the Department of Wildlife Conservation of Sri Lanka, that vision is now gradually coming to life beneath the waves.

One year on, this journey stands as a testament to dedication, learning, and meaningful action, from in-depth research to hands-on restoration beneath the waves. Each step has brought us closer to rebuilding healthier, more vibrant marine ecosystems. Today, we’re proud to see how far the project has progressed, and even more hopeful for what lies ahead. 🪸
