Srilankan Homestay With its mission to be the Miracle of Asia, SLTDA will expand its horizons to attract a new segment in the global tourism arena via Home-stay initiative.

Sri Lankan Home-stay is a project initiated by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) with the key motive of enhancing the capacity of Sri Lankan tourism sector. Partnering with Etisalat Sri Lanka, SLTDA presents this “Home-stay” portal enabling local property owners to market their home-stay online and attract the potential tourist just with a click. y owners are invited to register with the SLTDA and should go through a thorough quality check in order to make sure the venues are in line with the quality standards set by SLTDA. This initiative will have a positive impact on the national economic development in terms such as tourism sector capacity development, enhancing quality of the experience in Sri Lanka, encouraging entrepreneurs, creating employment opportunities and many more. Etisalat, a leading mobile network in the island has come forward to promote and distribute this concept via a dedicated portal. Home-stay portal developed by Etisalat, therefore will enable local property owners to market their home-stays online and attract the potential tourist just with a click. As a part of our web-based marketing program, handling of reservations for Home Stays & Bungalows is done with private sector contribution. Expo Lanka Holdings PLC which is a leading business chain that operates within the island with strong international connections handles the booking engine of the web portal.
