At Cinnamon Bentota Beach - Signature Selection, we believe hospitality is deeply connected to storytelling, culture, and authentic experiences.

"Flavours From The North" was created with that vision in mind - a culinary documentary journey exploring the rich food heritage, traditions, and people of Jaffna.

Through this series, our team travelled across Northern Sri Lanka to experience authentic local cuisine at its source - from bustling seafood markets and village homes to traditional cooking methods passed down through generations. More thar just discovering flavours, the journey allowed us to understand the stories, warmth, and cultural identity behind every dish,

An evening of culture, connection, and discovery unfolded at Cinnamon Bentota Beach – Signature Selection with the launch of Jaffna Night: Video Launch & Festival Reveal.

What began as a journey to understand evolved into a meaningful experience, where our team travelled to Jaffna to listen, learn, and immerse themselves in a way of life where food is deeply rooted in identity and tradition.

Through shared moments with local communities, time-honoured recipes, and stories passed down through generations, this journey became more than culinary, it became personal.

The evening brought this story to life through a traditional Tamil pooja, a cinematic video premiere, and the unveiling of the Jaffna Food Festival, a continuation of this journey, thoughtfully carried forward.

A celebration not just of flavours, but of heritage, people, and the spirit of preserving what truly matters.

An inspiring Mixology and Flair Bartending Workshop took place at Cinnamon Bentota Beach – Signature Selection on March 11th, led by pioneering Indian mixologist Ami Shroff.

Bringing together team members from our sister properties, the Food & Beverage team of Cinnamon Bentota Beach, students from Cinnamon Hospitality Academy and Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management, the session created a vibrant platform for learning and collaboration.

Participants explored mixology, flair bartending techniques, and global bar trends while gaining valuable insights from Ami’s expertise behind the bar.
