A double bed room...simply and beautifully decorated in white, with an attached bathroom,offers travelers a comfortable home. The room has a fan and is surrounded by trees making it comfortable. It accommodates two adults and a child. Wi- Fi and hot water are available.The room comes with a mini library for those who enjoy reading. I have a small home office in the premises. The guests are given a key , so that they can get about freely at any time. Air conditioning

Breakfast is on the house and consists of fruits,eggs and toast alternated with traditional Sri Lankan food. You have access to a separate dining area, while a fully equipped enables you to prepare your own meals if you so wish. This beautiful house is tucked away in a quiet corner of the Colombo’s bustling cityscape and is just a few minutes walk from the local Dehiwala beach. Bathed in a warm colonial ambiance, it once was the lovingly maintained home of one of the country’s renowned cookery experts, Mrs Lalitha Hanwella. Currently run by her trained and loyal staff, the house offers its guests superbly prepared Sri Lankan and western food of the highest standards. As a guest, you will enjoy being pampered by the two ladies who have resided in the house for 35 years and be gratified to know that you are supporting their livelihoods when you stay there. Two beautifully decorated bed rooms (double beds) with en-suite bathrooms are available, the main bedroom has A/C and a fan, the second room has a fan only. Both have been tastefully appointed with hand loom fabrics and even includes a mini library for your reading pleasure. Hot water and Wi-Fi are provided. You will be handed your own set of keys. A friendly dog resides on the premises and will be on hand to receive a warm welcome. Breakfast is on the house and you can expect an inspired blend of traditional and western cuisine. Linen and towels are provided and are changed every three days. If required we can change more frequently, but keep in mind to be eco-friendly. Location
The property is located in Dehiwala, about 15-20 minutes tuk ride from the city centre. De Alwis Place is off Galle Road. This road is next to the Abans showroom, opposite Concord Grand Hotel. No 46 De Alwis place is situated down a quiet leafy lane towards the beach in the suburb of Dehiwala, a multicultural blend of Tamil, Muslim Buddhist and Christian. The home is four doors down, a hop over the railway line, past the small Buddhist temple,and fishing hut to the local Dehiwala fishing beach and famous romantic Mt-Lavinia Hotel and swimming beach. The buzzing Galle Rd and Dehiwala Junction are up the top of the lane. So easy access to get a tuk (three wheeler) into town (costing 300 LKR with ocean views most of the way via Marine Parade or a cheap fast option is the local bus or train from Dehiwala train station. Literally a short walk up the railway line, you can also catch a train south to Galle Fort and Matara. Central bus stop and Railway station is 1 km away. (Station Road, Dehiwala)
The most convenient way to get about is on a tuk tuk. You are able to get a tuk tuk from the Galle road. Also you can download the mobile app (Pick me/Uber) which allows you direct pick up from the location. It is a residential lane close to the coast. There are a few apartment construction taking place on top of the lane. The surrounding neighborhood is calm and quiet. It is a safe location for women traveling by themselves. There is a children's' home run by World Vision for deserving children close by.
