Our Story - Empowering Women
A non profit organization which empowers a small group of women and girls with skills to produce handcrafted quality bags made of cloth which allows them to earn a living. These women come from challenging circumstances and their lives have been uplifted by this project.
What we make:
Individually handcrafted quality Tote Bags, Toilet Pouches, Backpacks, Pencil cases, Lunch Bags, bottle covers, Messenger Bags, Ipad covers and much more. These products are skillfully handcrafted by creatively utilizing Sri Lankan handloom fabric and interesting prints creating exclusive limited edition bags which Sri Lanka can be proud of. Shakti also uses Beeralu lace which is an ancient for of handmade lace in Sri Lanka for their bags. Designs and colours range from classic and sophisticated to conservative and bold. Each Bag bears a tag with the name of the person who made the bag.
