David Attenborough has been teaching us for decades that biodiversity is the foundation of all life on Earth, and without it, the natural systems that sustain humanity - including food, climate stability and clean air - will collapse and with it our resource for so many of todays modern medicine.

Sri Lanka has some of the richest biodiversity on earth and at MG in our Wild Garden we’re busy restoring 2 acres of natural forest to bolster the biodiversity in our Wild Garden. With careful planning we’re identifying what’s been lost, then selectively replenishing some endangered plant species, planting ground cover, flowers, shrubs and trees providing habitat and growing fruits, nuts and fodder for all.

My mission is to create a haven for birds, bees, butterflies and beetles. Working on small sections of the Wild Garden at a time, we will slowly transform this previously depleted landscape into a biodiverse wonderland.

There really are not many places in the world where you can have your own private dinner table next to the Indian Ocean with not another soul around, sun setting, candles glowing, private chef smiling, big bonfire burning and wine flowing.

All these lovely things going on as you dig your toes into the soft sand and wait to see if any turtles come ashore to lay their eggs on the beach (**seasonal!!).

This is the way we roll at MG and this is why so many of our guests return for all their special occasions. ❤️

There’s so much to do to keep all ages entertained at MG: Beaches, temples, exploring and wellness.

We have the beaches of endless golden sand or the cultural gems like the beautiful temples full of colourful paintings, frescoes, murals and painted caves, all telling a historical story.
We can even bring the entertainment to the villa, or of course, we highly recommend The Doctor’s House or Dots Bar for a great night out.

At MG, our guests are surrounded by Sri Lanka’s abundant wild life, our guests can in immerse in nature in our Wild Garden and on our exploring excursions.

Here at MG, we are fully equipped with Starlink connectivity and super fast WiFi so there really is no excuse for anybody to swerve their work.

Whether the little darlings are preparing for 11+, GCSE’s, A Levels or Uni degrees or big people are just grinding through the work, MG has the bandwidth to cope with all the tech requirements.

Although you may be distracted by 74ft pool slide, the table tennis, the Indian Ocean or the incredibly comfy beds!
