Incredible how much the garden has changed with all the rain through the back end of last year. Everything has doubled or tripled in size! Especially pleased with the lemongrass barrier along the pool - doing a great job of keeping leaves from blowing into the water

Garden looking glorious in the sunshine today. It has been loving the overnight showers.

08:41 this morning saw the dawning of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year here in Sri Lanka. Let us all pray that this New Year brings everything that our beloved Pearl needs, wants and deserves. Meanwhile come and visit! We can promise you a wonderful time, and yes, we do have a generator and plenty of fuel :)

Every month the coconut plucker visits and there are usually a dozen or so coconuts ripe enough to crop. The refreshing water is drained for drinking and the white flesh is grated and variously: squeezed to make milk for curries and pina coladas, baked into coconut cakes or pol roti, mixed with chilli and lime for a delicious sambol or, our favourite, used to make homemade bounty bars.
