JOB ROLE & INTRO:
Ratnakara Villa is looking for a hands on Hospitality Leader to oversee both overall/day to day operations of the villa and its small staff and the Bar performance. The ideal candidate will report directly to the owners, speak excellent English and have exceptional communication skills, combined with a strong business acumen, with a passion for guest experience, beverages, and team development.
YOUR ROLE:
• Lead day to day operations across the venue, ensuring smooth service, high standards and consistent guest satisfaction
• Directly manage the bar, liaise with Head Chef with Bar Menu development (food and Drinks) Manage stock control, hygiene and bar performance.
• Drive revenue and profitability through smart cost control, upselling, and excellent service standards.
• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee inventory, ordering and wastage control for bar and general operations, maintaining accurate records and communicating these regularly to the Owner/Director
• Train, schedule rota's for staff (and the bar cover as and when needed) and also be involved with the recruitment, training of housekeeping Stewards for the small Housekeeping team. Build a strong service culture.
• Ensure full compliance with Health, safety, food and alcohol regulations, as well as any internal SOP's.
• Handle guest feedback and any complaints professionally, turning issues into opportunities to impress.
• Working with management on budgets, forecasts, and any potential marketing campaigns & new concepts or events.
• Oversee the Housekeeping staff (including the Housekeeping Supervisor who will report to you) and ensure the smooth running of the Housekeeping Team. (This includes the Gardener)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• At least 3-4 years experience in Hospitality, including at least 1-2 years in a management role (GM AGM or Bar Manager)
• Proven track record managing both operations and bar in a restaurant, lounge or hotel environment.
• Solid understanding of P&L, budgeting, stock control and cost management.
• Extensive knowledge of Cocktails, spirits, wines and beverage trends, bar operations and service standards.
• Excellent English (as it is a forward facing role and most of our guests are from the Western world)
• Flexible to work Evenings, weekends and Holidays as required by the business. (Please note we do have Staff accommodation should the right candidate not live in the local area)
