Some beginnings deserve to be marked with tradition.

With the lighting of the oil lamp, we celebrated the opening of Uga Ghiri, our newest destination nestled among the mist-covered hills of Ella, in the company of our valued partners and colleagues.

This milestone is the culmination of the passion and dedication of many hands and hearts, brought together to create a place that honours its surroundings while offering a new way to experience Sri Lanka's hill country.

Today marks the beginning of Uga Ghiri.

After months of thoughtful restoration and careful craftsmanship, we are delighted to welcome guests to our newest retreat in Ella. Set amidst the historic Sutherland Estate, Uga Ghiri pairs contemporary standalone villas with the timeless character of a restored colonial manor, all surrounded by the remarkable beauty of Sri Lanka's hill country.

This is more than the opening of a new destination. It is the beginning of new journeys, meaningful connections, and experiences that we hope will leave an indelible imprint on all who stay with us.
