Spot the burst of vibrant orange right here on our villa. This striking, segmented marvel is the fruit of the Pandanus tree, commonly known as the Screw Pine. While it might look like a wild coastal pineapple, this plant is deeply rooted in the daily life and landscape of Sri Lanka.

If you look closely at the base of the tree, you will notice thick stilt roots gripping the sand. These natural anchors act as a sturdy defense against coastal erosion and protect the pristine stretches of beach you walk on each morning. The plant also sustains local craftsmanship. Artisans regularly harvest and dry the long, spiky leaves to weave intricate traditional mats and baskets.
