A ghost net is a fishing net that has been abandoned, lost, or discarded in the ocean.

These plastic nets will drift through currents or settle on seabeds, continuing to trap and kill marine life for decades, if not centuries. Examples of animals killed are whales, dolphins, dugongs, crabs and turtles.

There are a number of organisations tackling this issue but we urge you to do your part- if you encounter these nets, please remove them. We disposed of this one.
