With deep regret, we wish to inform our extended Dumbanagala Chalet community, our guests, friends and followers that the Chalet is closed until further notice due to the severe damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

A landslide has destroyed our Cottage and the driveway. Another has damaged the staff quarters and the kitchen. While the main Chalet stands, we must ensure the entire property and the forested slope above are safe before welcoming guests again.

Road access to the region is also blocked by multiple earth slips, delaying assessments and repairs.

Thank you to our guests, friends, followers and online community for your kindness, support and prayers. We are deeply grateful during this difficult time.
