Keeping Kalkudah Beach Clean, Together

On 23 September 2026, the Karpaha Sands team joined hands with representatives of M.E.P. A. from Batticaloa, the Toppigala Army Base, the STF from Valaichchenai, and local fishermen for a two-hour beach clean-up initiative along Kalkudah Beach.

The gathering began at 8:00 a.m. with a brief awareness session highlighting the importance of keeping our beaches clean, reducing litter, and protecting our coastal environment. The teams then worked together along the shoreline, collecting waste and helping preserve the natural beauty of Kalkudah Beach.

Following the clean-up, Karpaha Sands hosted all participants to short eats and warm masala tea as a gesture of appreciation for their time and contribution.

At Karpaha Sands, we believe protecting our surroundings is a shared responsibility. Through collective action and community participation, we can help keep our coastline beautiful for generations to come.
