Observe the panoramic 260 degree views of the valley below from the latter spot. Undertake a 2 km. trek to the Mahaweli river (accompanied by your hosts - time permitting), enjoy a snack / meal or a King coconut drink at one of the several small restaurants on the river bank. You may visit the world war cemetery of the allied forces, nearby. Walk across the vintage suspension bridge which straddles the river close by. A further 500 m away from the far end of this bridge is the traditional food outlet of the department of agriculture, open all day long. You may Continue your trek (if you so desire) right up to the Famous Royal Botanical Gardens (11/2km away). Drop in at the tourist info. center on the way. Return to a well deserved evening on your bedroom balcony watching the glorious sunsets pastel shading the verdant landscape extending up to the world heritage ' Knuckles ' range of hills.
